The Queen of Versailles is a 2012 American documentary film by Lauren Greenfield. The film depicts Jackie Siegel and David Siegel, owners of Westgate Resorts, and their family as they build the Versailles house, the largest and most expensive single-family house in the United States, and the crisis they face as the U.S. economy declines.
Jaqueline Siegel: I've been up and down my entire life. I mean, I've been married before and I didn't have to worry about anything. I was making tons of money modeling; and then I was poor again. I've been a cocktail waitress. I mean, I even... in the nursing home I used to clean dead people and prepare them for the morgue. (groans) Jaqueline Siegel: For $3.35 an hour.
Himself - Son: At my wedding day, my father gave a speech and he looked at my wife and he said, you will never have anything to worry about in your life. We worry every day.
David Siegel: Work is my life. I'm 24/7. I don't know any other way to do it. I'm a victim of my own success... or failures.
