The film stars Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse, Roddy McDowall, Stephen Geoffreys and Jonathan Stark. Supporting cast members include Dorothy Fielding, Art Evans, Irina Irvine, Heidi Sorenson and Nick Savage. The visual effects producer was Richard Edlund. Fright Night was released on August 2, 1985. It was also followed by a 1988 sequel, Fright Night Part II.
