Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas

Merely hours after we posted a story in which the Jonas Brothers muse over the fact they are touring with their significant others (er, except for Nick), one of those couples — Joe and Demi Lovato — broke up. "Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one," Joe told People last night. "I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up but I love her as a friend. She's been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her." Of course rumors began swirling immediately of what exactly happened. While some sites suggested Joe had done what he reportedly did to Taylor Swift and broke up with her over the phone, others claimed Demi might already be hanging out with another man, the much older (he's 30, shes 17) Wilmer Valderrama. "I'd like to clear a few things up," Demi tweeted later on. "First, Joe and I did split but it wasn't over the phone. Things didn't work out but we'll remain friends. Secondly, I am NOT dating anybody already. Nothing is more important to me than the relationship I have with my fans. Just thought you guys should know this." It was only about two-and-a-half months ago when the duo confirmed their relationship, and this split comes right before they are about to embark on a tour together as well as begin doing other press appearances for "Camp Rock 2."
